Social Sciences: Sociology, Economics and History

Hey, Assalamualaikum welcome to my blog!

I don't feel bad for missing in action, who are my loyal readers anyway?

What do you want to know about Sociology, Economics and History? Are they easy? Nope.

Are there going to be a lot of reading? Not really. Maybe if you read during the last minutes, days before your exam or test then yes. Of course. Especially History.

What do you learn in Sociology A level?

I almost got kicked out from class when my Sociology lecturer asked everyone in class about what we personally think about Sociology and me being the most outspoken (lie) and also straight forward (that's also a lie, occasionally) I told her that "macam nada point belajar Sociology, I can't apply it to real life situation" and my classmate enthusiastically said "I agree!" "Get out of the class" said she. I mean, she can't do that because we both were the top students in class that'll effect her passing percentage, right? (muahahahaha)

Well, my lecturer and some students in my Sociology class agreed that it was the AS topic that was pretty 'dull' and made Sociology a bit boring for me. We learn about theory and methods, qualitative and quantitative data and other boring stuff. Learning about family is interesting and fun, though. You have to practice a lot of essay writing, and need to understand about Functionalist, Marxist, Interactionist- you'll learn.

My Sociology lecturer mentioned this- "Learning sociology will make you less judgemental." Because we learn about the society, we learn about why there are subcultures, why this group or society have conflicts with the others etc. For A2 you'll learn about education, media and religion.

History A Level, easy peasy or damn hard?

It's not easy peasy, it's not damn hard either. As long as you have passion for this subject then you're good to go. Oh and also, as long as you have a great teacher who is certain about the dates and events and the names of important political figures. *sighs*

History is like story telling bah, because it could put you to sleep like a bed time story. A bed time story consist of massacre and cruel regime. I like it because History is not based on non existent theory or hypothesis. It is based on your perspective about who should be blamed for the first world war or the Russian revolution (for example). Easy? Heck yes it's easy! if you remember your evidence, factors and dates that is! Don't ever membual or you may say, pardon my french, don't bullshit bah

I didn't take History when I was doing my IGCSE, I started taking History in IB for a year and that's where the interest started. So having History O level is not a requirement!

Economics A Level, is it like Business studies or POA?
I hated Commerce because my balance sheet was never balance and I hated Business studies. Economics was the last subject I wanted to take, but I didn't have any choice back then because I can't take Syari'ah or food science or Geography.

I did not regret that last minute decision.

Economics is the best and I am pretty good at it- because I am lucky enough to have the best. teacher. ever. Shout out to Ms J! Hey!

Yes, it is about Demand and Supply but no the excitement did not end there. There's exchange rate which to be honest, I am quite a poop at that topic but hey, need to do more revision on that. There's a lot more to learn in Economics and it personally make me feel like a smart butt because I started reading on the business section in the newspaper and it feels great to know how reduction in subsidy or inflation or the flunking global economy could effect you in the future. Not great for our economy, but great that you actually can apply things you learn in real life situation.

That's all for now, good luck!

How did I study..?

Hello everyone! It has been a looooong time since the last time I posted something here- basically because I am not bothered and no inspiration to write anything hehe So I know I am a wee late for this kind of post, but personally, I am that kind of person who likes to search or know how other people actually aced their exam papers. But how we study is different to one another, right? Now let's get to how I studied for my exams 1. Music? You see, some people listen to songs when they belajar but as for me I listened to movie soundtracks ie Pirates of the Caribbean y'all because ada lyric atu macam distracting pulang so I think  soundtracks is better it made me feel very motivated and that study session just went from vapid-being to an epic adventure bahaha  2. The Location I studied everywhere in the house eg my room, living room, TV room, and the terikah room (panas sia) because being stuck in one room is just, buriiiing berabissss. Sometimes, few hours before sitt...
